First things first – Let’s get you signed up for your first instructional flight at PGC! {Reminder – Instruction takes place on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:00am – 12:00pm.}
Step 1: Log into the Philadelphia Glider Council Website (www.pgcsoaring.com

Step 2: In the Secondary menu:

select Instruction — then Flight Instruction:

Step 3: “Click in the day you want instruction, Do Not click on a colored bar with other members name/instructor . Note you can only schedule one week out. 
Select your desired instructor, and if you are not sure the instructor is available, select an alternate instructor. Add a comment if desired, select the type of instruction your are looking for and your weight. If you have already discussed instruction for that day with your instructor, click the “Confirmed with CFIG” checkbox.
If your are completely lost about which instructor to select, leave the instructor blank and check the “Scheduling Assistant Requested” box.
Click the Submit button.
Your request will appear on the calendar. The time shown is for spacing only. The instructors and Field Manager will determine the order of flights/instruction.
Orange background – Scheduling assistance requested.
Yellow background – Instructor selected, but not confirmed.
Blue background – pre-confirmed with CFI-G
Green background – CFI-G has accepted your request.
You will receive a confirmation email, as will the instructor and alternate instructor.
Instruction Reminders
- Regardless of your instruction time, all students are expected to show up by 8:15am to help get the aircraft out and preflighted for morning instruction
- If you do know the instructor you wish to fly with, make sure you email/call them ahead of time and confirm they are available to fly with you.
- You can start requesting instructional slots the Monday before the upcoming weekend
