This site is intended for members of the Philadelphia Glider Council. If you are not a member please visit our public site at: pgcsoaring.org. Members: we we collect the data necessary for the operation of the Philadelphia Glider Council. 

Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on every page. The Philadelphia Glider Council  does not trade, share or sell donors’ addresses or other personal information with any third party for any reason.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the www.pgcsoaring.com website. On some pages on this site we request information for the safe operation of the council.   You may be asked to provide some personal information such as the following:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Emergency Contacts name, address, phone
  • Flight Experience 
  • Soaring Society of America membership number

Like most websites, we also use “cookies” to save some contact information you have previously provided, to better understand how you interact with the website, to gather general visitor information and track visits to our website, and to make the user experience more streamlined. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is not captured in such cookies, nor does the Philadelphia Glider Council use cookies to mine PII. You can always set your browser to warn of cookies being placed, and then choose which cookies you want to accept. Standard browsers also allow you to easily delete cookies currently on your computer.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We share your Soaring Society of America(SSA) number with them for the purpose of paying your SSA dues. 

How long we retain your data

Your contact information is retained indefinitely. If you resign from the council you may request that your information be deleted.  All members can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

This website is not directed to persons under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect PII from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal information without that parent or guardian’s consent, he or she should contact us at treasurer.pgc@gmail.com. If we become aware that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our files.
