The Philadelphia Glider Council has presented our Winter Ground School every year for the last 22 years. This has provided an opportunity for local glider pilots to stay engaged through the winter months, and for both student pilots, and licensed pilots to advance their flying knowledge and safety from a classroom setting. This year’s pandemic has presented us with some unique challenges, but also with some wonderful opportunities.
Because we can not gather together in a classroom, we will be presenting our classes on-line. That means we don’t have to worry about traveling on stormy winter mornings. Our participants can attend from their homes, in the comfort of their sweat pants. Our presentations will be live, and interactive, but we will also record them so that participants can review each lesson at their convenience. Since we are not constrained by travel, we will open up attendance to the entire soaring community.
We will present more than 20 hours of class over 6 consecutive Saturday mornings, covering every topic required for the Private, Commercial, and Flight Instructor rating. If you or anyone you know are interested, please see the attached flyer.
