Encampment
You’ve seen the note from Steve. Mark it in your calendar. The premier event of the year. Include the two weekends, and we are looking at the opportunity to fly every day for nine days.
Stay overnight
Want to bring your camper and stay for a few nights? Go right ahead. We do have the OK from the health department, as long as your camper is self-contained with no water hook-ups!
While we have to charge members keeping their campers for the season, the encampment week is open for all members to come and stay for a night. Or three. Or the whole week.
Don’t have a camper? Bring a tent. What better way to experience our 118 acres?
Board meeting Thursday 7/18/24 7:30 pm at PGC
We take the opportunity with many members at the field to have an in person board meeting the Thursday evening of the encampment. I’m sure there will be some grilling before we get started around 7:30 pm.
Volunteering is part of the membership
And it’s NOT optional. If you have not yet signed up for field duty days this year, do so ASAP. We need to enforce this. We would not fly without our volunteer tow pilots, instructors, mowing team and many more. Do your part!
Overdue dues?
If you have not yet paid your 2024 dues, you are on the No Fly list and your membership status will be set to Inactive. Reach out to our treasurer at treasurer.pgc@gmail.com if you intend on flying this year.
Field condition – Wow
It can’t be said often enough. A big THANK YOU to our mowing team for getting our field into such a premier condition. Yes, we are still looking for somebody to take over management of Grounds. Klaus has given us plenty of time to find a replacement. He will continue to help, but he is after 10+ years ready to pass the baton. Talk to Klaus or myself if you’d consider taking over this important job. What does it entail? Managing the equipment maintenance and the mowing team. And a stellar team it is. Thank you all!
Founders Day Picnic September 7th 2024
An opportunity for all of us to gather at PGC with some good music, good food to enjoy good company. Beth Taylor and Lukas Furdal are organizing. I believe we once again have secured the Honking Geezers for the musical entertainment.
