Weekend Wx

Synoptics

A cold front will cross PA during the day on Saturday, bringing (slowly) some relief from the high humidity we have been seeing.  It will also bring the chance of rain and thunderstorms by mid-afternoon.  Sunday should be a great day to be out with dewpoints in the mid- to low 50”s (they have been 20 degrees higher all week).

Instability

Saturday BL top is about 4,000 ft and should provide 2 – 3 kt climbs.

Sunday BL should be about 5,500 ft allowing climbs to about 5,000 ft with 2 – 3 kt lift.

Clouds

Saturday should see Cu at about 3,500 ft msl.

On Sunday Cu will have a hard time forming with the very dry air so expect largely blue conditions. Ci cloud possible.

Wind

NW <10 kts Saturday, NE <10 kts Sunday.

Cautions

Chance of storms Saturday, rain showers more likely.  POTUS TFR Saturday.

I’m AFM at PGC on Saturday which makes for an early rise in Kennett Square so don’t expect an AM update – I’ll do one this evening though.
